Building near Loris destroyed by fire Monday morning

HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – An unoccupied building was completely destroyed by a fire Monday morning near Loris, officials confirmed.

Units from Horry County Fire Rescue and Loris Fire responded to find heavy fire showing at a building in the 200 block of Ole Maple Street off Highway 701 at about 9:30 a.m., according to HCFR Deputy Chief Scott Thompson. Fire crews had the fire under control by about 10:05 a.m., and the fire was out shortly after.

The owner of the building is currently in New Jersey, Deputy Chief Thompson said. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
