Kevin Harvick wins Bojangles' Southern 500

DARLINGTON, SC (WMBF) – Kevin Harvick took the checkered flag on Saturday night in the Bojangles' Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. finished second, while Jimmie Johnson took third.

Harvick maintained a lead for almost the first 100 laps and ended leading for a total of 239 on Saturday night. It's his first-ever win at Darlington, and called the victory a 'crown jewel' of races to win.

He is also the first pole winner to finish first at the Lady in Black since Dale Jarrett did it in 1997. Harvick also becomes the Sprint Cup's first multiple winner this season. He previously won out in Phoenix on March 2nd. Before this race, there had been seven different winners in seven different races this year.
