New name, logo for Grand Strand Regional Medical Center

Below is a news release from the Grand Strand Regional Medical Center:

New Name and Logo for Grand Strand Regional Medical Center and Physician Practices

Grand Strand Regional Medical Center has shortened its name to Grand Strand Medical Center, created a new logo and created Grand Strand Health System for its employed medical practices.

"The hospital has not had a logo for many years and when we created Grand Strand Health System, we felt it was important to create a logo for brand continuity," said Mark Sims, chief executive officer. "The logo represents a hospital cross with a wave feel - signifying the coastal location. The four points illustrate employees, physicians, patients and community working together for quality healthcare."

The Grand Strand Health System name and logo will be used for employed physician practices and future non-hospital services that may be added.

"The logo will be used for both names," explained Sims. "When we use the same logo in all of our visual communications such as business cards, signage, advertising, stationery and more, we will project a clear identity that creates a greater awareness of our organization. All of the employed physician practices will use the Grand Strand Health System logo for instant recognition of the affiliation with Grand Strand Medical Center."

The rollout of the new logo and names will occur through 2014 and beyond, due to the magnitude of services and collateral material.
