Man nearly drowns after tractor crashes into creek in Florence County

FLORENCE, SC (WMBF) - A man is in serious condition after a tractor he was driving ended up in a creek and he nearly drowned on West Deer Road in Florence County Sunday.

Chief Billy Dillon with the Howe Springs Fire Department said the incident happened around 1:00 p.m.

According to Dillon, a man was driving his tractor South East on West Deer Road when he and his tractor ended up in a small creek on the side of the road.

Dillon said the tractor fell onto the man nearly causing him to drown.

Right now he is being treated at a local hospital.

WMBF News is still working to learn more about the man involved.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating this incident.
