Darlington clubs organize Community Clean Up Day

Posted: Updated:

DARLINGTON, SC (WMBF) - The Kiwanis Club of Darlington will partner with the Kalmia Garden Study Club for a Community Clean Up Day on Saturday, April 5.

The cleanup will begin at 8 a.m. at the Greater Darlington Chamber of Commerce and last until noon.

Volunteers will be picking up trash on the Square and Pearl and Main Streets. In addition, volunteer crews will be washing windows, trimming the hedge on Liberty Lane.

"This event will improve the look of downtown - something that is especially important as we hope to capitalize on the 60,000+ race fans headed our way in another week," said Lisa Chalian-Rock, Darlington Kiwanis Board member. "We need to show people we care about our town, and as leaders in the community we, as a club, need to set an example to others."
