Crews restore power to traffic lights in Florence

FLORENCE, SC (WMBF) - A car crash on Freedom Boulevard caused a number of traffic lights to stop working, according to Major Carlos Raines with Florence Police Department.

The driver of a Toyota 4-Runner struck a trailer, being pulled by a Ford Explorer.

After hitting the trailer, the driver continued across oncoming traffic and onto Frank Monroe Drive - but didn't stop there.

The 4-Runner went off-road and hit a large transformer.

The traffic lights on Pamplico Highway also lost power, as a result of the crash.

Power company crews were able to restore power to those traffic lights by 5:30 p.m.
