St. James High School announces hiring of head football coach

MURRELLS INLET, SC (WMBF) - St. James High School has a new Interim Head Football Coach, according to Athletic Director Paula Lee.

St. James High School Principal Vann Pennell and Lee announced today that St. James High science teacher, Robert "Robby" Brown has been named the Interim Head Football Coach at St. James High School effective immediately.

St. James High and Coach Brown agreed to this position as Interim Head Football coach on Friday, March 28.

Coach Brown served as Offensive Coordinator for Conway High School before transferring to St. James High. He is in his second year teaching science at the school.

Mr. Pennell and Lee expressed their excitement for Coach Brown's decision to accept the offer as Interim Head Coach of the Sharks football program with this statement:

"We did not have to look very far to find the right person for this position. Coach Brown came highly recommended by the staff and assistant coaches. He is a very positive role model; a great family man with a great deal of integrity and character, a terrific classroom teacher, and has a wealth of knowledge with a successful background of football coaching experience at various levels. Mr. Brown has been an offensive and defensive coordinator, offensive line coach, and has extensive experience as a weight training instructor. He has all the attributes to be a successful leader and coach at St. James High. We are ecstatic to have him as the Sharks Interim Head Football Coach."
