DARLINGTON COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – The driver of an 18-wheeler was killed when the truck he was driving drove into the median and struck an overpass pillar in Darlington County Monday morning, officials said.

The victim from the tractor-trailer collision was identified as Diamond J. Hill, 22, from Macon, Ga. By Darlington County Coroner J Todd Hardee.

The driver was traveling east on Interstate 20 when the truck drove into the median and struck a pillar at the Highway 403 overpass, said Corporal Sonny Collins with the South Carolina Highway Patrol. The accident happened at about 8:30 a.m.
