DARLINGTON COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - Forty warrants were executed in Darlington County Wednesday, landing 14 people behind bars.

"When the investigation is going on, you don't make the arrests immediately when you make the buy. We try to get enough evidence to put multiple charges on them, that way we keep them in jail longer, off the street longer," said Darlington County Sheriff Wayne Byrd.

Those warrants were served by the Darlington County Sheriff's Office, the US Marshals Fugitive Task Force, and Probation and Parole. The operation started early Wednesday morning and lasted around four hours.

Guns, drugs and body armor were seized. "This was a great success. The teamwork between this office and the other agencies involved is the key to that success. Together, we took guns off the streets, put bad guys in jail, and that is always a positive," said Byrd.

"When we can take that many people off the street at one time, we hope that it makes a big dent in the problems that we have in the community," said Byrd.

Officials say more arrests are expected to add to this list of persons arrested Wednesday:

Quintina Lanise Moses was arrested on drug charges. Jamielet D'Quan Zimmerman was arrested on four counts of manufacture and distribution of cocaine base and unlawful transport of a sawed off shotgun.

David Bryan Williamson was arrested for drug possession with intent to distribute and distribution of drugs near a school. Stacey McInville Wiggins was arrested on a bench warrant for DUI, bench warrant for driving under suspension, distribution of drugs near a school, and possession of drugs with intent to distribute.

Jamal Jermaine Jackson was arrested for the manufacture and distribution of cocaine base. Ethel A. Gainey was arrested on two counts of drug possession with intent to distribute.

Robert James Ham, III was arrested on two counts of manufacture and distribution of cocaine base. Sean Parnell Moody was arrested for six counts of drug possession with intent to distribute.
