Rowland man accused of shooting, killing brother at party

ROWLAND, NC (WMBF) – A Rowland man has been charged for the shooting death of his brother at a party in Rowland Saturday night, according to Major Anthony Thompson with the Robeson County Sheriff's office.

Jamie Blake Hunt, 33, has been charged with second-degree murder for the death of his brother, 41-year-old James Timothy Hunt, Major Thompson stated.

The shooting was reported at about 10 p.m. Saturday on Henry Berry Road. A party was being held at a home there, and an altercation occurred between the two brothers, resulting in Jamie shooting James in the chest, Major Thompson stated.

James was taken to a nearby hospital where he died early Sunday morning.

The bond for Jamie Hunt was set at $50,000, unsecured, Major Thompson said. This incident is under investigation by the Major Crimes Division.
