HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - Plans are in the works for fans to watch the men's basketball team of Coastal Carolina University take on Virginia Friday evening during the second round of the NCAA tournament in Raleigh, North Carolina.

On Sunday evening, the call came out that 16 seed CCU will go head-to-head with number 1 ranked Virginia in Raleigh.

On Monday, many students and fans were contemplating how to watch the game, whether to stay at home or buy a ticket to see the Chants play in person.

CCU sophomore Blake Graham said he most likely will watch the game on campus. "It would be helpful to have the university have somewhere for us to rally together," he said.

Leaders with the university have decided to put together a viewing party at Hicks Dinning Hall Friday night at 9:00 p.m. for the game. According to Tyger Glauser, who is in charge of Student
Activities and Leadership with the school, the event is free to the public to also attend.

"Of course this is a huge deal for us, because this is the first time going to the NCAA tournament since 1993. So we definitely wanted to make a big deal out of it. And get as many students to watch the game as possible," explained Glauser.

She also adds tickets are going fast through the school's athletic department. "I heard that the lower level tickets are $86, but you get in for two games. And the upper level tickets are about $66 and those are also for two games."

The school will not be providing bus transportation up to Raleigh for the game for fans; according to Glauser, they'll be encouraging people to carpool with one another.

The men's basketball team will leave some time on Wednesday. An official send off still hasn't yet been planned.
