Deputies: argument over necklace leads to shots fired

Deputies say a dispute over a necklace has landed a woman in jail overnight.

Sergeant Curtis Wilson with the Richland County Sheriff'sDepartment says they responded to a shots fired call at a home on StamhopeCourt around 1:00 Monday morning. That is located in northern RichlandCounty near Longtown Road and I-77.   

The man at the home says his ex-girlfriend, later identifiedas 21-year-old Tanisha Knight, came to the home to get a necklace, according toWilson.  After Knight was told the necklace was not at the home a manstepped out of the car to start a fight, Wilson says.  The homeowner thenwent back into the house and brought out a family member.

Sergeant Wilson says the man and Knight got back in the carand began firing shots as they drove away.  Several rounds hit the house. There are no reports of injuries.

Deputies later arrested Knight at her home and she is being charged with three counts of attempted murder. Knight is being held at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
