GARDEN CITY, SC (WMBF) - Horry County Police confirmed that the police standoff on Coastline Court at Wood Thrush Drive in Garden City ended without incident with one man in custody.

That man was identified as Wilbur Joshua Snow. Horry County Police have charged him with criminal domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature and kidnapping in connection to the standoff in Murrells Inlet on Monday.

The standoff ended at about 9:40 a.m., according to Lt. Robert Kegler with the Horry County Police Department. A man and a woman were seen leaving the home, and the man was taken into custody without incident.

Wood Thrush Drive was closed at the Highway 17 Bypass in Garden City for several hours Monday morning while police were on the scene where a person was barricaded inside an apartment, officials confirmed. The road at the Sweetwater Condo complex was closed, and there is a detour to the Garden City Connector.

According to Horry County Police officials, the call came in at 12:30 a.m. The SWAT team was on scene, and Lt. Robert Kegler was doing negotiations. Police removed anyone who would be in danger from the scene.

Authorities at the scene told WMBF News Reporter Will Whitson that the standoff began when a man refused to let a woman leave the home. The SWAT team responded to the area at about 4 a.m. Monday.
