FLORENCE, SC (WMBF) – Florence Police have arrested one suspect and are searching for another in a home invasion and armed robbery that happened earlier this month.

According to Major Carlos Raines with the Florence Police Department, on March 3rd, two men went inside a home on the 1200 block of Berkeley Avenue. The men, armed with a handgun, tied the two residents up, went through their home, and stole their valuables.

Michael D. Brooks, 32, was arrested Friday on Ed James Road, Major Raines said. Brooks is charged with first-degree burglary, kidnapping, armed robbery, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, and felony possession of a firearm.

The incident is still under investigation, and police are looking for the second suspect.
