Florence hosting Great American Cleanup event Saturday

FLORENCE, SC (WMBF) - The City of Florence is hosting a clean-up event Saturday; attendees will also have the opportunity to recycle used electronics at an e-cycle drop-site.

Details about this event are in a news release from the city below:

Keep Florence Beautiful and the City of Florence will hold the annual Great American Cleanup this Saturday, March 15, 2014. This is a great opportunity for the community to come together to clean debris and trash from our streets and beautify our neighborhoods.

As part of the event, an E-cycle drop-site will be available to recycle your used electronics. The E-cycle drop site will be located in the parking lot of Hallmark Square at 931 S. Irby Street.

Volunteers are needed for this event - individuals, churches, nonprofit organizations, businesses, schools, etc. Volunteers will clean their designated areas of the community and will then meet at Timrod Park to turn in cleanup reports and enjoy a free lunch provided by Keep Florence Beautiful and its sponsors.

For details on volunteering for this event, visit the Keep Florence Beautiful website or contact Michelle Bailey, Chairperson of the Keep Florence Beautiful Board (843-206-3205).
