Myrtle Beach tops list of cheapest Spring Break destinations

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - According to Hotwire.com, Myrtle Beach is the cheapest of 11 cities considered as the most inexpensive destinations in spring 2014.

Hotwire studied vacation destinations in the US, Mexico and the Caribbean to compile the list, which highlights the best nightly hotel rates in March and April 2014:

  • Myrtle Beach, SC - $68 per night
  • Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - $78 per night
  • Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic - $86 per night
  • San Juan, Puerto Rico - $99 per night
  • San Diego, CA - $99 per night
  • Los Angeles, CA - $104 per night
  • Oahu, Hawaii - $105 per night
  • Montego Bay, Jamaica - $110 per night
  • Grand Bahama Island, The Bahamas - $127 per night
  • Playa Del Carmen, Mexico - $128 per night
  • Cancun, Mexico - $145 per night

      ROBESON COUNTY, NC (WMBF) - One man is dead and another seriously injured after an incident at the Campbell's Soup factory in Maxton Sunday morning. According to Sheriff Kenneth Sealey deputies responded to a 911 call around 11 a.m. Authorities believe the workers were attempting to move a dumpster using a forklift when it shifted, falling on two people.  The status of the seriously injured man is unknown at this time.  Sealey says the incident is still under investi...
