Chants host Selection Sunday watch party at HTC Center

CONWAY, SC (WMBF) - The Coastal Carolina University Chanticleer's basketball team is hosting a watch party for players and fans on Selection Sunday.

There will be free food in the HTC Center gymnasium as the Chants wait to hear who they will be playing against the NCAA Tournament.

The party is from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

WMBF News will be there to let you know when the brackets have been set, and which teams the Chants will challenge for the win.

The Coastal Carolina men's basketball team outlasted Winthrop in the Big South Championship last Sunday afternoon, and as a result, will be playing in the NCAA Tournament later this month.

CCU led Winthrop for the entire second half, finishing with a final score of 76-61.

Coastal Carolina head coach Cliff Ellis won his first conference tournament title and became the tenth head coach in NCAA history to bring four different teams to the NCAA tournament. He also made it to the tournament with South Alabama, Clemson and Auburn.

CCU is 21-12 overall on the year, and won the Big South South Division. The team has won 12 of its last 15 games after today.
