Myrtle Beach Council to designate 'Myrtle Manor Film District'

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - On Tuesday, the Myrtle Beach City Council will designate Patrick's Mobile Home Park as the Myrtle Manor Film District for part of the year.

The resolution will do two things: give the area a new name, and allow for more filming at the site.

The resolution declares that there will be what's called a "special event" in the area while filming "Welcome to Myrtle Manor," from March 27, 2014 to June 28, 2014.

The TLC reality series premiered on Sunday, March 10, 2013, and has since been renewed for a second season.

The show follows a cast of characters residing at Patrick's Mobile Home Park. It was met with mixed reaction from Myrtle Beach residents when it first premiered, and has since generated controversy in the area with the arrests of several cast members.
