Horry County man accused of having sex with dog

HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - An Horry County man is facing charges after allegedly trying to have sex with a dog.

According to the report from Horry County Police, a dog owner heard one of their canines whimpering as if it was hurt around 10:45 p.m. on March 9.

When they went outside they, "observed the suspect having vaginal intercourse with their youngest female blue nose pitbull," the report states. When the owner asked the man what he was doing, he replied "I need to speak to your husband," and then ran away.

According to the report, the man identified as 34-year-old Lorenzo Paez Calles had an open can of beer in his hand.

When police arrived, they observed visible harm to the dog. Hours later at Calles' home, police officers found him asleep, smelling strongly of alcohol. He was very unsteady on his feet and shrugged when asked about what happened.

Calles was booked into J. Reuben Long Detention Center and charged with buggery/sodomy.
