LUMBERTON, NC (WMBF) – The fatal shooting of a 22-year-old man in Lumberton, North Carolina on Monday night is being investigated by detectives with the Robeson County Sheriff's Office.
Jordan Matthew Arnette died Monday as a result of a gunshot wound to the chest, authorities confirmed.
At about 9:19 p.m. on Monday, March 3, the sheriff's office responded to a call for help from a residence on Thunder Bird Road, off of Warwick Mill Road in Lumberton, North Carolina.
According to Major Anthony Thompson with the Robeson County Sheriff's Office, the caller said his son Jordan was outside on the home's front porch to get the dogs some water when he heard a gunshot. The father went to the front door to see his son stumbling inside with a single gunshot wound to his chest.
The father called 911, and Jordan Arnette died at a nearby hospital as a result of the injury, sheriff's officials stated.
