DARLINGTON, SC (WMBF) - One person has been taken into custody in connection to the bomb threat investigation at Darlington High School that canceled all after-school activities Monday.

"As of 0915 AM we had a juvenile in custody for the Bomb Threat at DHS. This matter will be resolved in Family Court," Darlington Police Chief Watson posted in their Facebook page.

Darlington County School District spokeswoman Audrey Childers confirmed the person taken into custody is a 15-year-old student. "The juvenile will be charged in family court and will also face a disciplinary hearing within the Darlington County School District system."

On Monday after the school was evacuated, Childers reported that all after-school activities at Darlington High had been canceled and students would be dismissed from site they evacuated to.

"The safety of our students and staff is our highest priority. All staff and students are safe," Childers added.
