MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Myrtle Beach Police were on scene of a crash on South Kings Highway Thursday night that involved a pedestrian.
A witness told a WMBF News photographer at the scene that a woman was hit by a vehicle while crossing Kings Highway at Eighth Avenue South at around 10 p.m.
Myrtle Beach Police Captain David Knipes confirmed the woman was not in a crosswalk when she was crossing Kings Highway and was struck by a pickup truck traveling southbound. The driver will not be charged.
The woman was alive when she was taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.
The accident blocked southbound lanes of Kings Highway for a short time. The current condition of the woman hit is unknown.
