ANDERSON, S.C. (AP) - A judge in Anderson has delayed a decision on whether to reduce the prison sentence for a Greenville attorney convicted in a fraud case.
The Greenville News reported (http://grnol.co/1mHbG8y) that lawyers for Fredrick Scott Pfeiffer asked Circuit Judge Cordell Maddox to reconsider their client's sentence because of the sentence a co-defendant in the Capital Investment Funding case received.
Pfeiffer was sentenced to six years in prison after pleading guilty to two counts of securities fraud and one count of conspiracy.
Former company manager Arthur Field was released eight days after he was sentenced to about two years in prison. Government prosecutors are asking that Field's sentence be reconsidered.
Prosecutors said Tuesday Pfeiffer did not deserve a shorter sentence.
Maddox said he would schedule a new hearing to consider both requests.
