Debris removal under way; jobs available for local residents

GEORGETOWN, SC (WMBF) - Thompson Consulting Services, a debris removal contractor for the Georgetown County government, is hiring at least 20 more local residents to work as monitors.

Interested candidates may apply for these jobs online at www.thompsoncs.net or by calling (843) 503-8092. Please leave a name and contact information. Thompson will return calls to provide applicants with a time and location for a hiring and training session.

Georgetown County debris removal contractors will remove only storm-generated vegetative debris. Bagged debris should not be placed on the public right-of-way; only loose vegetative yard waste will be collected. Do not place debris near mailboxes, water meters, fire hydrants or any other above-ground utility. Residents are reminded to place any storm-related vegetative yard debris on the public right-of-way for pickup.
