LAKE CITY, SC (WMBF) – Two men are behind bars on attempted murder charges after an apparent gang-related shooting last week in Lake City, officials confirmed.

On February 17, police responded to a home on South Morris Street in Lake City when a mother and son reported that their house had been shot at, according to the police report. Investigators located two rounds in the residence, and four bullet holes in the one of the victims' cars. Officers also found 9 .40-caliber shell casings in the roadway in front of the house.

The male victim positively identified two suspects. A Lake City Police official said they believe this shooting was a gang-related incident between the nationally-known Bloods and Crips gangs.

On February 19, 19-year-old Devin McFadden, of Lake City, was charged with three counts of attempted murder and booked into the Florence County Detention Center.

Ariel Young, 23, also of Lake City, was booked on February 25 on three counts of attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
