DSS offers partial reimbursement for winter storm food loss

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - According to a spokesperson for South Carolina's Department of Social Services, anyone that received food stamp benefits prior to the winter storm can be reimbursed for their losses.

Spokeswoman Marilyn Matheus confirmed that food stamp recipients can visit their local DSS office and fill out an Affidavit of Loss to get a partial replacement of their food benefits.

There is no deadline to apply for the reimbursement.

If you do not receive food stamp benefits, your local food bank may be able to provide some relief.
