MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – A 20-year-old Myrtle Beach man was arrested on Sunday and charged with attempted armed robbery for an incident that occurred last Wednesday on Highway 15.

According to Myrtle Beach Police records, Kurtis Dan Jackson was charged with attempted armed, or allegedly armed, robbery, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, and sale or delivery of a pistol.

According to the MBPD report, as the victim was leaving Al's Food Mart, in the 1500 block of Highway 15, the offender asked the victim to give him all his money Wednesday night. The victim said he did not have any money, and the offender stuck a black handgun in the victim's stomach. The victim then gave the offender his wallet.

The store owner heard the commotion and came outside, according to the police report. When the owner spoke up, the offender walked away. Investigators arrived and interviewed the victim and store owner about the suspect.

According to police records, Jackson was arrested by Myrtle Beach Police Sunday and is awaiting trial at the Myrtle Beach jail.
