SCDOT updates status of area roads after winter storm

Posted: Updated:

HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – According to SC Department of Transportation, all interstate routes are in good condition. Primary routes are in fair to relatively good condition with some isolated patches of snow and ice. The upper and central counties continue to treat and plow snow/ ice on secondary roads and bridges.

Temperatures in District Five (Darlington, Dillon, Florence, Georgetown, Horry, Marion, Marlboro, and Williamsburg Counties) are ranging between 44 and 52 degrees. Secondary roads and bridges continue to be treated with anti-icing and deicing materials and equipment. Several counties continue to clear fallen trees and limbs.

Counties are transitioning from deicing operations to debris removal operations. Due to safety concerns, debris removal operations will be conducted during daylight hours only. Each county has standby crews for on-call emergencies during overnight hours.
