MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - As crews continued to work to restore power to the area, the number of customers affected by outages steadily declined Thursday evening.
Here's the latest update on outages as of 10:15 p.m. Friday:
Horry Electric Cooperative: 3699
Santee Cooper: 114 in Georgetown County, 1,056 in Horry County
Duke Energy: 22,058
Pee Dee Electric: As of 8:30pm we have 1,738 outages. Crews have been working hard all day restoring over 2,400 services since 6am today!
Here's the latest update on outages as of 7 p.m. Friday:
Pee Dee Electric Cooperative, South Carolina has 2,579 outages. Outages in Florence, Darlington and Chesterfield counties are scattered, while Marion (1659 outages) and Dillon (879 outages) are widespread.
Horry Electric is still reporting 4,776 customers without power.
Santee Cooper has 137 outages in Georgetown County and 1,578 in Horry County.
According to Duke Energy's outage tracker, less than five people are without power in Darlington County, 2903 in Dillon Co., 12,525 in Florence Co., 518 in Georgetown Co., 579 in Horry Co., 7,358 in Marion Co., 14 in Marlboro Co., 3,130 in Robeson Co. and 37 in Scotland Co.
Here's the latest update on outages as of 3 p.m. Friday afternoon:
Santee Cooper tweeted, "Less than 2800 w/o power – 2,200 in Horry County, 320 in Georgetown County, 250 in Berkeley County. Crews working around the clock."
Pee Dee Electric Co-op posted the following on their Facebook page: Help from Fairfield Electric Co-op just arrived and are loading up materials before heading out to help with our power restoration efforts.
They also said: We are making headway. As of 2pm we have 3,012 outages. A combination of over 90 men and 54 trucks from Pee Dee Electric and contractors are working together restoring power. The majority of the crews are working in our hardest hit counties of Marion and Dillon. We appreciate your patience.
Duke Energy Progress is reporting 56 customers without power in Darlington County, 3519 in Dillon County, 14,517 in Florence County, 638 in Georgetown County, 884 in Horry County, 8,295 in Marion County, 114 in Marlboro County, 4,161 in Robeson County, and 159 in Scotland County.
Horry Electric is reporting a total of 564 outages affecting 6,663 customers. On their Facebook page they posted, "Crews are working their way down the lines from each of the 24 substations. They have 4,900 miles of line to ride and will be clearing up any major debris along the way."
By Friday morning, an estimated total of 49,524 customers were without electricity across the WMBF News viewing area. This includes 7,968 Horry Electric Cooperative customers, 4,067 Santee Cooper customers, 33,298 Duke Energy Progress customers, and 4,200 Pee Dee Electric Cooperative customers.
Duke Energy Progress outage information indicates that some customers in Florence, Dillon, Marion, Darlington, and Marlboro counties may be without power until Sunday night.
Pee Dee Electric Cooperative workers are working to restore power to customers in Marion and Dillon counties, according to a Friday morning update.

Crews from Tennessee arrived to assist Santee Cooper Power crews as they worked to restore power to customers in Horry, Georgetown, and Berkeley counties.
"Our determined crews continue to work as quickly and safely as possible, and they appreciate everyone's support and kind words," a Santee Cooper official stated. "We know these past few days have been difficult, and we thank customers for their continued patience and understanding. We will not stop until every customer's power is restored."
"They need an electrician to come out to make sure the point of attachment is safe and attached to the home. That way they can have the wire restrung for the power company if they have an overhead service," Kris Cucchiara, owner of Aegis Electric
Georgetown County Emergency Management says Screven Baptist Church in Maryville has portable shower units set up and available to the public. They have six units (three for men and three for women) and welcome anyone affected by electrical outages who want a hot shower to go to the church from before 9 p.m. Thursday night and from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday.
Towels will be made available, but people should bring their own toiletries. The church is located at 2221 South Island Road, Georgetown.
At 10:45 p.m. Thursday, about 50,737 were without power across the WMBF News viewing area: 3,517 Santee Cooper customers without power, 9,487 Horry Electric Cooperative customers, and 37,733 Duke Energy customers.
At 9:30 p.m., close to 54,000 people were without power. Horry Electric: 9,927, Santee Cooper: 3,735, Duke Energy: 40,111.
At 8 p.m. Thursday, 51.726 people in the Grand Strand and Pee Dee were in the dark. Santee Cooper reported 4,237 customers were without power. There are also 11,869 Horry Electric customers and 35,620 Duke Energy customers in the dark.
At 5:30 p.m., 70,150 customers in the WMBF News coverage area were without power: 7,405 Santee Cooper customers, 19.723 Horry Electric customers and around 42,000 Duke Energy customers.
At 12:30 p.m. approximately 84,000 customers in the WMBF News coverage area are still without power, with a large percentage of outages inland, in Florence and Marion counties.
At 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Santee Cooper had restored power to all but about 7,500 customers, according to an update from the company. About 1,700 customers are without power in Berkeley County, 600 without power in Georgetown County, and the remaining outages are in Horry County.
