Wednesday Winter Weather Closings and Delays

HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - A winter storm warning for inland Horry County, the Pee Dee and Border belt regions is in effect until Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.

As another severe winter storm moves into the area, this web page will be updated with the latest delays and closings for Wednesday, February 12:

Wednesday, February 12 SCHOOL CLOSINGS

-Due to hazardous winter weather, Bridgewater Academy Charter School will be closed on Wednesday February 12, 2014. 

- Central United Methodist Church Offices and Preschool in Florence will be closed on Wednesday, February 12 and Thursday, February 13. Administrative Staff employees should report to work on Thursday, February 13 at 12 p.m.

- Coastal Carolina University will remain closed Wednesday and will NOT reopen at noon, according to a Wednesday morning Facebook update from the university.

Coastal Leadership Academy Public Charter High School will be closed Wednesday February 12, 2014.   

- Coker College will be closed Wednesday, February 12 due to inclement weatherAll classes have been canceled, including all ALPHA off-site locations. The college's dining services will remain open.

- All Darlington County Schools and District offices will be closed Wednesday, February 12. Maintenance personnel and custodians are to report to work, if they can safely do so. All after school and evening activities scheduled for Wednesday, including sporting events, are canceled. A decision about school on Thursday will be made mid-day tomorrow.

- Dillon Christian School will close on Wednesday, February 12.

- Emmanuel Christian School (Hartsville) will not have school on Wednesday, February 12.

- Due to predicted weather conditions, Florence One schools and offices will be closed on Wednesday, February 12. A decision regarding the schedule for Thursday will be provided by noon on Wednesday.

- Faith Christian Academy in Florence will be closed on Wednesday.

Florence Christian School and Child Care will be closed Wednesday.

- Florence County School District Two will be closed, February 12, due to the inclement weather and the imminent danger of snow and sleet. A decision about Thursday will be made at 11 a.m. Wednesday after weather update concerning Thursday morning.

- Florence County School District Three will be closed for students and employees on Wednesday, February 12. A decision about closing or delays on Thursday will be announced Wednesday afternoon.

- Florence County School District Four will close on Wednesday, February 12, for all students and staff. Additional information on closings will be forth coming.

- Florence County School District Five (Johnsonville) will be closed Wednesday, February 12, due to inclement weather.

- Florence Darlington Technical College will be closed Wednesday for students, staff and faculty.

- In light of deteriorating forecast and the prospect of severe winter weather, Francis Marion University will be closed on Wednesday, Feb. 12. All classes and campus activities are canceled. The Ervin Dining Hall will be open on a regular schedule.

Gateway Academy-Myrtle Beach will have a delayed opening at noon today, Wednesday, Feb 12th also per director, Janeen Smith. 

Gateway Academy-Surfside will delay their opening until noon today, Wednesday Feb 12th.

Grace Christian School, Loris, will be closed Wednesday, February 12th.

- The Georgetown County School District will be closed for students and staff on Wednesday, February 12, due to the Winter Storm Warning in effect for Georgetown County with the prediction for freezing rain and sleet.

- Horry County Schools: Closed Wednesday for students and staff. 12-month employees report to a regular work site unless road conditions prevent.

- All three campuses of Horry Georgetown Technical College will be closed on Wed., Feb. 12. Due to a winter storm underway that is expected to continue through Thurs. morning, Feb. 13. A decision regarding opening or closing the college on Thurs., Feb. 13, will be made the afternoon of Wed., Feb. 12. HGTC classes will be held on all campuses through Tues. evening, Feb. 11.

The King's Academy will be closed on Wednesday, Feb. 12.

- Maranatha Christian School in Florence will be closed on Wednesday.

- Marion County School District will be closed for all staff and students on Wednesday, February 12.

- Northeastern Technical College in Pageland, Cheraw, Dillon and Bennettsville will be closed on Wednesday, Feb. 12 due to inclement weather. All day and evening classes scheduled for Wednesday are also canceled.

- Ocean View Baptist Teaching Learning Center will be closed Wednesday, February 12.

St. Michael Catholic School in Murrells Inlet to closed today, Wednesday, February 12th.

Strand College of Hair Design in Myrtle Beach will be closed for all students on Wednesday the 12th. 

- Thomas Hart Academy in Hartsville: Closed Wednesday, February 12. After school childcare program Closed. All activities canceled.

- Trinity-Byrnes Collegiate School in Darlington, SC will be closed on Wednesday, February 12.

- Virginia College in Florence – Due to inclement weather, the campus will be closed on Wednesday 2/12/14 for all students, staff and faculty.

Wednesday, February 12 EVENT/OTHER CLOSINGS AND DELAYS

- Central United Methodist Church Offices and Preschool in Florence will be closed on Wednesday, February 12 and Thursday, February 13. Administrative Staff employees should report to work on Thursday, February 13 at 12:00.

- The Coker men's and women's basketball games scheduled for Wednesday (Feb. 12) have been rescheduled to Monday (Feb. 16) due to inclement weather conditions.

- The Coker women's lacrosse game scheduled for Thursday (Feb. 13) against Furman has been postponed due to inclement weather. No make-up game has been scheduled at this time.

- Conway City court will be closed Wednesday.

- City of Darlington offices will close at noon today, Tuesday, Feb. 11, and will remained closed on Wednesday, February 12, due to the inclement weather. Garbage collection has been suspended for the rest of today and will resume at noon Thursday at the earliest depending on road conditions. Garbage collection will continue on Friday and Saturday as needed. Recycling pick-up will continue as normal on Friday. A decision on when City offices will open on Thursday will be made Wednesday afternoon or evening.

- All Darlington County offices will be closed Wednesday, February 12 due to the weather. This includes all solid waste stations in the county. Officials are monitoring weather conditions and are in touch with state emergency management.

-"City of Florence offices will be closed today.  Updates on city services are available at www.cityofflorence.com.  We do plan to run Sanitation services, but service may be delayed depending upon road conditions."

- The Florence Family YMCA Preschool and After school Programs will be closed Wednesday, February 12, due to severe weather.

- The Florence Family YMCA will be closed Wednesday, Feb. 12, due to severe weather.

Georgetown County offices and facilities opened on a delay Wednesday due to weather conditions. Opening time for Wednesday is 11 a.m. They will close at 4 p.m.

-All Horry County offices and facilities will open on a 2- hour delay today (Thursday, February 13). The offices will open at 10 a.m.

-  HTC Business Offices will be closed today. The HTC store at Coastal Grand Mall will be open at 11 a.m.  HTC is prepared and ready to respond should outages occur due to snow, sleet, freezing rain, and ice accumulation.  Customers should report outages by calling HTC Repair at 365-2186.

- Due to weather conditions this morning, all Horry County offices and facilities will open on a 2-hour delay. The offices will open at 10 a.m., and close at 2 p.m.

- Due to inclement weather, Magnolia Mall will be closed today, Wednesday, February 12, 2014. 

- Marion County offices will be closed on Wednesday, Feb. 12 to all non-essential employees.

- North Myrtle Beach Municipal Court will be closed February 12. The Chief Justice of the South Carolina Supreme Court has ordered Courts statewide to be closed on February 12. Although Municipal Court will be closed on February 12, the North Myrtle Beach Clerk of Court's Office will be open on February 12.

- All PDRTA services will be suspended for Wednesday February 12. FMU Rt. 7, Darlington-Florence Commuter, Marion to Myrtle Beach and Lake City to Myrtle Beach will all also not operate on Thursday February 13. Weather permitting the Florence Transit System, LakeTran in Lake City and Dart in Darlington will resume service at 12pm Thursday February 13.
