HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – As of 12 p.m. Monday, over 700 Horry County Electric Cooperative customers were without power near SC 707 due to a tree on a power line.
The outage originally affected 832 customers, according to the Horry County Electric Co-op outage map, and as of noon, 736 customers were without power.
"Tree on the line. Broken pole. They'll be out until the tree can be removed and the assembly on the pole can be replaced. I don't have a time estimate," Horry County Electric Cooperative representatives stated in a Facebook post.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol is also reporting a car accident with injuries occurred nearby at 12:03 p.m. According to information from the highway patrol's website, the accident happened on SC707 in front of Collins Creek Grocery. Officials could not confirm whether or not the accident was related.
The outage appears to be affecting customers along State Highway 707, south of Holmestown Road.
