As tourist season approaches, many places look to hire

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – Good news for anyone looking for a job – as tourist season approaches, many places are looking to hire.

Ocean Lakes Family Campground, Nascar Speed Park and the Tanger Outlets are each holding job fairs within the next 9 days.

Two are being held next Saturday. The Nascar Speed Park will be having a job fair next Saturday the 15 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. They are hiring over 75 seasonal positions with opportunities in all departments, including admissions, retail, food and beverage, track and ride attendants, plus various supervisory and operational lead opportunities.

Then head over to the Tanger Outlets. Both locations are having a job fair from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Employers will be filling full time, part time and seasonal positions of all skill levels.

On Monday, February 17, Ocean Lakes Family Campground will welcome interested applicants from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. They are looking to fill a variety of seasonal positions, including golf car attendants, cashiers, bathhouse attendants, recreation attendants, cooks, security officers and more. Ocean Lakes will hire approximately 200-250 seasonal and part-time employees. Interested applicants are asked to bring a resume to the job fair.

Nicholas Barrett is the manager of the Tanger Outlets in Myrtle Beach.  He says there's a huge benefit working at these locations that hire local workers. It's a chance to turn the job into something more. "There's a lot of opportunity. We hire hundreds… probably a thousand employees at each center every year. So there's a lot of opportunity and it's a good-paying job that leads to management opportunities in the future."
