Many businesses offering 'locals-only' deals in the off-season

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - It has been an even colder off-season this year, which has certainly put a chill on off-season business. Now, for attractions, the focus is on getting you to come through the doors.

Businesses are reaching out to customers with "Local Appreciation" deals. The deals are specially put together for those who live in Horry, Georgetown, and Brunswick counties. All Ripley's Attractions in Myrtle Beach are half off. Wonder Works is giving adults the children's price and kids can come in for $10.

You'll also find meal deals in some locations. Rioz Brazilian Steak House offers half-off prices. Several restaurants are offering buy one-get-one-free entrees, like Angelo's Steak and Pasta, Key West Grill, Benjamin's Calabash Seafood and Greg Norman's Australian Grille. Captain George's Seafood Buffett has a $26 local's feast.

The sales manager at Wonder Works tells WMBF News all the efforts are to help keep things busy until Spring.

"We like our locals to come out and support local businesses," explained Lori Lampo with Wonder Works. "Also, we do tremendous business with our local schools. Field trips keep us afloat, so it's a fun time of year."

Most of these deals last through the end of February, so locals have a couple of weeks to take advantage.
