WMBF News continues its commitment to the community to provide urgent, accurate breaking news and weather coverage with a new focus on weather.
We are excited to introduce WMBF First Alert Weather. The new promise reinforces and enhances our ability and commitment to warn you first about severe weather entering our area.
"We're excited to launch First Alert Weather, because we believe it is extremely important to provide the Grand Strand and the Pee Dee with the first notification of severe or threatening weather," said Vice President and General Manager Ted Fortenberry.
The new technology allows WMBF Meteorologists to provide the most high-resolution forecast models, clear and concise street-level mapping, and 3D radar.
"We are dedicated to providing the most accurate forecast and to making sure you are ready for any impact the often wild weather will throw at us," said Chief Meteorologist Jamie Arnold.
We are also continuing our commitment to bringing our area the most digital tools to stay informed and aware of the weather, completely free of charge.
In addition to the latest forecast information, interactive weather maps, and more on the First Alert Weather section of WMBFNews.com, we continue to offer and improve a wide range of digital tools, including:
