MULLINS, SC (WMBF) – Four firefighters sustained non-life-threatening injuries Tuesday afternoon while responding to a residential structure fire near the Temperance Hill community in Mullins.

According to an update on the Mullins Fire and Rescue Facebook page, crews were on the scene of the fire off Perritt Court when conditions inside the house worsened, and an evacuation order was issued. A Mayday was issued from Command after one firefighter was believed to be unaccounted for. The firefighter was not inside the structure, and was found okay outside.

Two firefighters were transported from the scene by Emergency Medical Services, and two others were evaluated at the scene and not transported. All four firefighters are not expected to have any long-term issues, the Facebook post states.
