Conway, Myrtle Beach Police identify suspect in several armed robberies

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – Myrtle Beach Police and Conway have identified a suspect they believed robbed two pharmacies and a bank at gunpoint between Saturday and Monday.

According to releases from both agencies, an arrest warrant has been issued for 43-year-old Richard James Cowart. Conway Police believe he is responsible for the armed robbery of the BB&T Bank in Conway on Monday at about 9:08 a.m.

Myrtle Beach Police say he is wanted for the armed robbery of a CVS Pharmacy and a Rite Aid Pharmacy.

Officials state the he should be driving a red 1988 Ford Ranger pickup truck, SC registration: JNH904. Cowart is considered armed and dangerous.

Police are still investigating whether Cowart is connected to the armed robberies of a Food Lion in Conway and a Cracker Barrel in North Myrtle Beach.
