HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – The Myrtle Beach Police Department responded to an armed robbery at the Rite Aid on 7800 N Kings Highway in Myrtle Beach around 3:40 p.m. Sunday.

Officers were told by an employee that the suspect entered the store and picked up some items such as mini bottle of mouth wash and toothpaste. The suspect went to the register, made polite conversation and then laid the merchandise on the counter, with a handwritten note, that read something close to "Take all the money out of the register and give it to me."

According to the police report, the suspect verbally demanded the money, and reached toward the front of his pants, causing the employee to fear he had a gun. The employee surrendered the money to the suspect; the police reports states that approximately $300 was stolen from the register. The suspect then fled the scene on foot. No one in the parking lot observed or heard anything related to this crime, reports MBPD.

The suspect was last seen wearing a light blue baseball cap with an unknown emblem on the front. He was wearing a dark short-sleeved shirt with a shield or badge over the left breast, with a large similar emblem centered on the back of the shirt, with a stripe down on the sleeves. That shirt covered another light-colored long sleeve shirt which in turn covered another multi-color shirt. The multi-color shirt appeared to be "red paisley" according to the police report. He wore long dark-colored pants and appeared to be wearing heavy boots. The suspect was not wearing glasses, had a mustache, and he appeared to be wearing a large black wristwatch.

If you know anything about this crime, you are asked to contact the Myrtle Beach Police Department at 843-918-1382.
