Rowland bank robbed at gunpoint Thursday, police say

ROWLAND, NC (WMBF) – Rowland police say the BB&T bank on Main Street was robbed by a man with a handgun Thursday afternoon.

A man wearing dark clothing with a bandana over his face entered the bank at about 12:55 p.m. Thursday and pointed a handgun at the female teller, demanding money, Chief John Reavees said.

The man robbed the teller of an undisclosed amount of cash, then fled on foot through the bank parking lot.

Rowland Police are investigating the video footage from the bank, Chief Reavees said.
