MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – Myrtle Beach police are asking for the public's help in identifying the suspect in a burglary from a hotel room, apparently while a couple was asleep inside.

On January 12, police responded to a hotel in the 2700 block of South Ocean Boulevard, where they met the victims, a man and his wife.

The man told police that he woke up at about 4 a.m. because he heard a noise, and noticed the door to his room was open. He then saw that his laptop and iPad were missing from the table. The man woke his wife, and they discovered more possessions were missing: his wallet and her purse, and her laptop and iPad.

According to the police report, the sliding glass door in the back bedroom was open, and a white pillow case was missing from the bed. Security footage showed the suspect on the ground floor at about 3:37 a.m., carrying a white pillow case that appeared to contain items.

Police are asking for anyone with information on this incident or the identity of the suspect in the photos to call the Myrtle Beach Police Department and reference case 14-000795.
