MBPD: Man wanted for questioning in attempted murder case

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – Myrtle Beach police have identified a man wanted for questioning regarding an attempted murder case stemming from a report of a shot fired at a Myrtle Beach hotel back in August 2013.

MBPD is asking for the public's help in locating 35-year-old John Seals, also known as "Bill Gates," in connection with the attempted murder that happened on August 22, 2013 at the Aquarius Hotel at 301 12th Avenue North.

According to the police report, the victim told police he was standing on the second floor outside his room when the offender was walking along 12th Avenue North. The man pointed a small handgun at the victim and shot once towards the victim.

The victim dropped to the floor of the hallway and the offender took off running towards 14th Avenue North.

Police responded and round a small hole that resembled a bullet hole, and small wood fragments that looked like they came from a handgun grip.
