Crews respond to fire at Georgetown car wash

GEORGETOWN, SC (WMBF) – Georgetown City firefighters responded to a fire at TLC Car Wash at 334 South Fraser Street Wednesday night.

According to Fire Chief Joe Tanner, crews arrived at the car wash at about 9:30 p.m. Wednesday to find heavy smoke in the building after responding to 911 call. The roof and attic of the building were fully involved, he said.

Crews had the fire under control within about an hour, Chief Tanner said. The cause, origin, and amount of damage to the building have yet to be determined.

Recruitment started in January and the district has already started making job offers. According to Bourcier, leaders are hoping to complete the hiring process over the summer.
