NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Elisabeth von Trapp, the granddaughter of the legendary Maria and Baron von Trapp, will be appearing in concert at the Ocean Drive Presbyterian Church on Friday, January 31, at 7 p.m.
Many of Elisabeth's earliest memories were formed around 'the sounds of music'. "Gold winter nights ... I would sit on my bed in the dark, picking out a Joni Mitchell song on my guitar as the sounds of Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto on the phonograph would I float up the stairs from the living room below where my mother sat knitting. Music has given me a place to be. "
Elisabeth has performed in many venues, from small folk clubs and concert halls to the White House, the National Cathedral and the Kennedy Center. She has self produced five albums and is an internationally recognized performer.
"Her voice is hauntingly clear and her lyrics tender and romantic." The New York Times
"Before the concert is over she will have the crowd gasping with the sheer beauty of her voice." Boston Globe
"Never has the Newport Opera House been filled with such beautiful music. Galls from adoring fans keep using words such as "beautiful", 'Joyous" and "comforting". Newport Opera House
Plan now to attend Elisabeth von Trapp's first ever concert on the Grand Strand. There is no admission charge; however, an offering will be received during the performance.
