BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WECT) – New police dash camera video shows a man accused of kidnapping and rape being chased through Brunswick County as he tried to elude capture.

According to the Brunswick County Sheriff's Office, Richard Gore took a victim from a home in Little River, SC to his home in Brunswick County where he raped and assaulted her.

Officials said the victim was able to get away and call 911.

When deputies responded to the call, Gore led them on a chase down Etheridge Road and Ash Little River Road, speeding more than 15 mph over the legal limit.

Arrest warrants show Gore rammed several cruisers and eventually crashed the vehicle he was driving. Officials said Gore started to run, but officers were able to catch up to him and take him into custody.

Gore faces a list of charges including kidnapping, first degree forcible rape, possession of a firearm by a felon, assault with a deadly weapon and possession of drugs. He is being held in the Brunswick County Detention Facility under a $4 million bond.

Gore was charged in May 2013 for kidnapping, strangling and biting the fingers and nose of the victim. He turned himself into authorities for those charges in June 2013.

He was awaiting trial on those previous charges and was wearing a GPS ankle monitor. According to the sheriff's office, Gore removed the monitor at some point Monday.
