Report: Victim robbed, another shot in woods off Highway 501

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – Police responded to a reported shooting near the Food Lion off Highway 501 in Myrtle Beach Sunday night, authorities confirmed.

Two victims were taking a shortcut through the woods to get home after leaving the Food Lion when two suspects "appeared out of nowhere," a victim told Myrtle Beach Police. The suspects robbed one victim and shot another as he attempted to get away, according to the MBPD report. The suspects then ran south on Cedar Street.

Emergency Medical Services responded any transported one victim to a nearby hospital with a gunshot wound to his leg.

The other victim described one suspect as a light-skinned African-American man, about 20 to 25 years old, 5-foot-9-inches tall, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, a white shirt, and dark jeans. The other suspect was described by the victim as a dark-skinned African-American man, about 16 years old, 5-foot-7-inches tall with a skinny build, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.

Detectives responded to investigate the scene.
