COLUMBIA, SC (WMBF) - Former South Carolina State Representative Thad Viers has pleaded guilty to harassment charges.
He's been sentenced to one year in jail, but he won't be spending the full time there. The sentence has been suspended to just 60 days in jail, days that will be served on weekends only.
He's also facing one year of probation.
The harassment charge stems from a January 2012 arrest after his ex-girlfriend said the former lawmaker continued to call, text, and show up at her workplace and home after they'd broken up.
