Pipe tobacco manufacturer bringing 43 new jobs to Horry County

HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – Laudisi Enterprises Inc. will be expanding the operations of its smoking tobacco manufacturing and pipe distribution in Horry County.

"Horry County has been the corporate site for Laudisi for over a decade and we are excited about our continued expansion in this area," said Sykes Wilford, President and Founder of Laudisi Enterprises. He expressed how delighted they've been to "work with Brad Lofton and the team at Myrtle Beach Regional Economic Development along with the North Myrtle Beach Chamber of Commerce."

The company will be expanding core operations, as well as bringing their pipe tobacco manufacturing operations from North Carolina to Little River over the next 18 months, resulting in the retention of 37 existing jobs and the creation of 43 new jobs with a capital investment of about $255,000.

    CONWAY, SC (WMBF) - A jet ski collision near the Red Bluff Boat Landing in Conway on Saturday left one man dead, according to the Horry County Coroner's Office. Martin Dale McDaniel, 50, was rushed to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center where he later died of his injuries. The crash happened around 5:15 p.m. Saturday evening.  An autopsy is reportedly scheduled for Sunday.  The Department of Natural Resources continues to investigate.
