Lancaster man arrested after vehicle pursuit in Myrtle Beach

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - According to a Horry County Police report, a 34-year-old Lancaster man was taken into custody on January 6, for failing to stop for blue lights, possession of a controlled substance, and for previous convictions in Lancaster, SC.

A HCPD report states that the suspect, later identified as Donald Keith Snipes, Jr., led the police on a pursuit down Robert Grissom Parkway, heading toward Harrelson Boulevard. Stop sticks were deployed three times during the pursuit and deflated three of his tires.

Snipes was apprehended at around midnight when his vehicle came to a stop between 21st Avenue North and Mr. Joe White Avenue.

The suspect told police officials that he had swallowed five to six oxycodone pills prior to his arrest. He was transported to Grand Strand Regional's ER and later was taken to J. Reuben Long Detention Center.
