SCEMD urges residents to be prepared for winter weather

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – In a push to prepare South Carolina residents for the onset of potentially record-breaking low temperatures Tuesday morning, the South Carolina Emergency Management Division held a news conference Monday afternoon.

During the Winter Weather press conference, officials with SCEMD noted that while South Carolina will not see the kind of cold weather other parts of the country are experiencing, it will still be very cold, and unusual for the this region.

"Two particular groups of people that are very vulnerable are the elderly and infants," said SCEMD Director Kim Stenson.
