FLORENCE, SC (WMBF) – A mother and son from North Carolina were arrested in Florence Saturday night after several stores reported receiving counterfeit $100 bills, according to police.

Major Carlos Raines with the Florence Police Department said officers responded to the Magnolia Mall Saturday night after several stores reporting getting fake $100 bills.  In total, seven counterfeit bills were taken as evidence by police.

According to the Florence County Detention Center website, 40-year-old Mary Moore and 20-year-old Quan Jackson, both from Highpoint, NC, were arrested and charged with three counts each of unauthorized use or trafficking in goods or services with counterfeit trademark, and one count each of criminal conspiracy.

Major Raines said that the department is expecting to make more arrests in connection with these counterfeit bills.

The website shows Moore was released from the detention center Monday morning.
