Big Bite: Pee Dee Vipers win first PBL game

Vipers win PBL debut

FLORENCE - The Pee Dee Vipers officially tipped off their stint as a member of the Premier Basketball League by topping the West Virginia Angels 123-69 on Saturday night at the Florence Civic Center. The startup franchise for the PBL features former players from several Division One colleges such as Stanford, Southern California and Auburn.

The Vipers will play all of their home games at the Florence Civic Center, which is hosting a professional team for the first time in five years. They will return to action on January 9th and then the 11th when they host the Rochester Razorsharks. The season runs until April.
